Two hundred and six miles an hour. That’s quite a lofty claim for a car sporting a 3.6l flat- 6 – but with two variable geometry turbochargers the power arrives as quick as you can say “GT2.”
It was only until November 2007 after a brief production hiatus from the 996, that Porsche launched the 997 GT2 in line with the 62nd Frankfurt Motor show. The GT2 still sits high up in the super car ranks, generating 523 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque – leaving it to rocket all the way to 62mph in 3.6 seconds before maxing out at 206 – making it the first true Porsche 911 to exceed the 200mph barrier.
We were lucky enough to recondition this beautiful black GT2 after it had seen some serious track time – fortunately enough for the owner, he had opted to install a full vehicle clear bra to protect the paint from any high speed collisions with rocks, bugs, tar and road wear. After a spray down in the wash bay, we prepped it for a complete Enthusiast Detail, vacuuming and a Basic Wipe down. Take a look at the shots below to get a better feel for how much dirt and dust this GT2 took head on before we brought it back to showroom condition!
