About a year and a half ago we had a client contact us with interest in a bit of vehicle wrapping and customization to his newly acquired Ferrari F430 Scuderia. Initially, we opted for a full matte black finish with some gloss yellow Scuderia stripes and accents to really set the look off. Now the time has come for change, so we set to work getting this F430 hooked up with a brand new set of custom multi- layer stripes using carmine red and satin clear film!

First things first, we prepped up the official Scuderia art files with some registration marks to assure lining up the two sets of stripes would lay down right where they needed to. After a bit of weeding and transfer taping, they were ready for install.

With the stripes ready for placement, Blake & Solomon set their sights on getting the alignment perfect. After all, one of the keys to a great stripe install is continuity from front to back!

Tape lines were also set in place to keep everything tight to the factory specifications for Scuderia stripes, leaving just the right amount of gap around the Ferrari emblem and tapering off towards the edge of the hood.

Once everything was lined up and registered correctly, it was time for the last bit of install prep. Blake started off by laying down the largest piece of carmine red vinyl across the roof while Solo cleaned off any lingering contaminants with a bit of alcohol.

Then it was just a matter of aligning the shorter front and rear stripe pieces with the tapeline, and making sure everything matched up with the roof.

Getting the pinstripe appearance to look right has a lot to do with keeping the stroke width of the glossy underlay as consistent as possible around all the edges. Check out a few glamor shots that the owner sent our way for the full effect bellow!

While we love the new look of the multi- finish red & satin stripes, we can’t wait to see what the owner has in mind next. Rumor has it that this F430 Scuderia might be losing the matte black look all together and reverting back to a near factory finish, but with a few new twists! All we know is we’re excited to be apart of it and watch it all come together. In the mean time, check out this post from the archives featuring the F430’s original wrap scheme & time lapse footage of the installation!
