Preventative care is an important aspect of car ownership, and not something we take lightly here at NorthWest Auto Salon. We’re constantly scouring the market for polishes, products, films, and coatings to supply our customers with the best possible solution for any of their automotive needs, be it corrective, protective, or aesthetic. That’s we’re excited to announce Ceramic Pro Protective Coatings are now available to any prospective clients from Seattle, Bellevue, Lynnwood, and beyond!
Originally developed as an industrial coating by the Nanoshine Group, Ceramic Pro started its life with a scope far broader than just automotive protection – marine, aviation, you name it, they’ve coated it. What makes Ceramic Pro special is the way it exhibits a unique, stackable nanoscopic surface architecture; not only does Ceramic pro allow for cooperative bonding between coats to increase coating depth, but it also prevents narrow contact angles for water & clinging contaminants. This keeps the coated area from wetting, in which the water is forced to bead & disperse. Quite simply, it self-cleans. It’s an attribute that’s more commonly referred to as the “lotus effect,” and one of the many benefits Ceramic Pro products can offer any vehicle in your stable.
While a single coat of 9H may not be comparable to thick PPF film, the protective nature of Ceramic Pro coatings go far beyond a traditional wax or sealant. The cured surface of 9H is strong and resilient to scratching and corrosion, keeping your vehicle free of the damage or wear that occurs with regular use and basic maintenance. It’s preventative care at its finest — the type of thing that requires very little attention on your part & keeps your vehicle looking like new for as long as possible. Of course, the level of protection Ceramic Pro can offer a car all depends on which coatings you choose to have applied. Like other certified outfits, we’re currently installing 9H, Light, Sport, Heavy, Rain, Textile, Plastic, Leather, as well as Wheel & Caliper coating treatments. While we offer the standardized Gold, Silver, and Bronze package options that include varying levels of coating appliqué, all our detailing treatments can be customized to support à la carte installations of the whichever Ceramic Pro products you like. Keep in mind, we’re also one of the few facilities authorized to install Ceramic Pro in the greater Seattle area, so if you’re shopping around, make sure the operation checks out. Now, on to the coatings!
At the apex of protection, we find Ceramic Pro’s permanent, stackable 9H option, as well as its sibling, a superhydrophobic topcoat called “Light.” Both products work well in conjunction with one another, but can also be applied separately depending on the variety of protection you desire. 9H is one of what’s often referred to as a “quartz coating,” due to its hardened nature upon fully curing — once applied, Ceramic Pro 9H becomes a new exterior surface layer over your existing clear coat. Just one layer of 9H exhibits extreme levels of resistance to scratching, heat damage, weather & UV rays, oxidation, corrosion, staining, and just about anything else the road might throw at it. On top of that, the added depth from the applied coating brings painted surfaces to a whole new level of gloss.
Light, on the other hand, is more geared towards self-cleanliness, and less about permanent paint shielding. Offering up to 24 months of durability with a high gloss finish, Light makes your paint resistant to UV rays, oxidation, and corrosion be it chemical or biological. Combine the two coatings, and you’ve got a tag team of protection designed to last together long-term. Did we mention they’re also perfectly safe to use on top of XPEL paint protection & vinyl wraps?
For those who need more help on the interior than the exterior, Ceramic Pro has you covered as well. With the interior coating options they’ve made available, there’s no doubt we’ll find something in the Ceramic Pro arsenal that suits your car’s cabin perfectly. The Textile coating is just as it sounds – crafted for maximum spill repellency with contact angles wider than 140° to ensure fabric fibers stay clean and unsoiled. Similarly, Ceramic Pro Leather shares the same hydrophobic nature while retaining the factory feel of your leather hides. On top of that, it offers excellent UV protection to prevent the leather from fading and cracking. Ceramic Pro interior coatings are an essential treatment for anyone with muddy dogs, sloppy co-pilots, and any client looking to keep their interior spotless from the first day of ownership.
Worried about fading & wear developing on interior & exterior plastics, rubbers, and trims? Ceramic Pro can help with that too — their Plastic coating is specifically formulated with a similar level of hydrophobic effect as the rest of the product line, while also rejuvenating the surface with a light sheen. No infomercial grade “wipe away” snake oil here; Ceramic Pro Plastic offers strong UV resistance with excellent long-term durability to boot, ensuring a longer lifespan for trims, bumperettes, splitters, skirts, and everything in between.
Surely, no coating package would be complete without the addition of Ceramic Pro Rain. Given Seattle’s affinity for wet weather, having a hydrophobic glass coating is basically mandatory for most road goers. One coat of Rain on your vehicle’s glass surfaces allows water to bead & roll right off, keeping your windows cleaner while improving outbound visibility faster than you can wipe the wet away. It’s also designed to last, so there’s no worrying about the constant need of re-application.
Along with the most requested Ceramic Pro coating options, we also offer Sport – an introductory, maintenance-centric topical coating, as well as their latest heavy duty, spray-on Wheel & Caliper treatment. Remember, all our Ceramic Pro coatings can be added à la carte to boost protection on any interior or exterior detail service we offer. After all, the first step is having a well-kept car, so some essential corrective detailing, cleaning, and reconditioning may need to be taken beforehand.
