We usually have a pretty diverse collection of cars coming through the shop at any given time; but when Audi Expo is around the corner, all that changes. As if we’ve been bestowed a gift from the Quattro Gods, the schedule fills up weeks in advance with a variety of AWD wonderment, and like clockwork, they’re all cleaned up just in time for the meet & greet!
This year was no exception. With keys to the satin wrapped R8 GT burning a hole in our pocket, we planned ahead & coordinated with our friends at QuattroWorld to make the trek down to Griot’s Garage flagship store in a convoy with the freshly detailed RS4, newly wheeled S6, and the Spina² VW CC.

When Saturday arrived, we were ready to roll with some new window banners on the RS4 & R8 GT. After making good use of the wagons by filling them up our tent & gear, we grabbed the cameras and hit the road.

Initial traffic on I-5 was pretty light, so we had plenty of opportunities to snap some rolling shots!

The fitment of the new 19×10 Hartmann HP-310 wheels supplied by Achtuning for the S6 were on point. It might have been the added weight from boxes of QuattroWorld merch & NWAS detailing info booklets making her ride a little slammed out, but either way the H&R coilovers helped keep everything in place.

The QuattroWorld RS4 Avant is quite the experience at cruising speed. The rumble of the exhaust note is tremendous, and at times it seemed our fellow freeway-goers were even more entranced by the the wagon that was rapidly overtaking them than our toy from Tony Stark’s garage.

Traffic or not, the drive down to Griot’s was beautiful. The weather couldn’t have been clearer, and it was smooth sailing nearly all the way to Tacoma. Next year we’ll definitely have to plan a proper sunset drive home, because getting rolling shots of Audi’s finest was one of the best parts of the day!

As we closed in on the Expo, we were ready for some food & a little bit of everything Audi has to offer. With the parking lot starting to fill, we positioned our fleet out on the lawn & set up the booth.

Down in the lot, there were generations of Audi engineering parked side by side. From the heavily modified down to the OEM+ and bone stock restorations, the Audi Expo has something for the four ring fan in all of us. Even the DJ spinning the event rolled out his own customized A4!

This Solar Orange RS5 was particularly eye catching, and we couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like wrapped up in XPEL Stealth!

It seemed like the crowd was thoroughly enjoying the QuattroWorld RS4, and it may have been one of the most photographed cars of the day. No surprise really, as it’s not very often we state-siders get to see a legitimate RS4 Avant! (Hint hint, nudge nudge, Audi USA.)

The new Hartmann HP-310s on the S6 were getting a lot of attention too. Who knew a classic Porsche-style wheel on an Audi could look so clean?

Of course, the satin R8 GT was as stunning as ever soaking up the sun out on the lawn. Truly, it is a car that looks as magnificent as it performs, and it’s a dream to have the opportunity to work so closely with one of Audi engineering’s finest.
As the sun began to set on the Tacoma backdrop & the 2013 Audi Expo came to a close, we packed it in and headed our separate ways.
