Whether or not a viewer acknowledges it, the presence of color can be very psychological. Exorbitant amounts of time & money are invested into monitoring & curating a “colorized” world of materials, campaigns, marketing, advertisements, and so forth; in the automotive world, paint colors are no exception. Every automaker boast a variety of options, some of which end up being more rare, desirable, or iconic than others, influencing trends and contributing to sales. Many enthusiasts have their favorites, and sometimes even brand loyalty will play a part in what color a car is repainted or wrapped. Names like “British Racing Green” or “Grabber Blue” become woven into the nomenclature of car nuts everywhere, and the feeling each hue exudes begins to embody the essence of the car itself. It’s a strange occurrence, but it’s the only way a simple red can translate to “fast” and “stop” without even changing a shade.

Typically when people think of Lamborghini, they tend to picture top-of-the-line super cars in tropical tonalities. Verde Ithaca, Giallo Maggio, Arancio Argos – color options that sound just as exotic as their high-performance counterparts; truly, a spectrum that’s to be expected for such editorial Automobili. Everything but Rosso, of course, because after all, that’s just for the coveted prancing horse.

Wrong.

Coincidentally, the LAST color someone might picture a Lamborghini in, just so happens to be one of the best options available.

“A Red Lamborghini?” They’ll say, “that’s blasphemous!”

But for those in the know, the love of Rosso runs deep. It all started with Rosso Vik. Touted as one of the rarest Lamborghini paint options around, Rosso Vik first made its appearance in the late 80s before disappearing into the time fog, never to be seen again. Those who seek it will not find it. Its PPG code comes up as “0032,” but PPG themselves have no record of it even existing. Many have tried to re-create it, and nearly all have failed. Only until recently did we think that it might be curtains for one of the bloodiest unicorn colors around. Then it happened: like a Phoenix, Rosso Efesto rose from the ashes. Same code, same color, new name, new car.

Word on the street was that a Rosso Efesto Aventador would be making a new home for itself in our lovely little corner of the NorthWest, and we were dying to see it in person. The raging bull was scheduled in for a complete Xpel Ultimate paint protection wrap & Spectra PhotoSync window tint, but since this is one of those paint colors that we only get to see every so often, we couldn’t help but slap on a little swatch of Stealth just to see how it looked!

Even though we’re big fans of the flat & satin look, taking depth out of such a rich, gorgeous color just seems like a hate crime against such an impressive automobile. Despite our curiosity getting the best of us, this Aventador is staying glossy for now.

First things first, we moved her into the wash bay and began the 24-step hand wash process.

Once Brian had the exterior all cleaned up, he began the clay bar decontamination process to get out any residual grime & prepped all the painted surfaces for the complete wrap of Xpel Ultimate self-healing paint protection film. Typically, most clients opt for a Full Frontal, or even just a Premium clear bra kit, but given the rarity of Rosso Efesto and the fact that this Italian beauty was fresh out of the booth, the owner wanted to ensure that the Aventador would be well equipped for anything the road might throw at it. After all, superior cars deserve superior protection!

It took a few days time to design the kit for maximum coverage due to the immense amount of angles and body lines of the Aventador, but soon enough Tim was off & rolling on installation. Keep in mind, much like all our paint protection packages, this clear bra kit was crafted specifically for the Aventador to fit & cover every inch of exposed paintwork. Once a majority of the Xpel Ultimate had been placed & squeegeed down, Carlos could begin installing the Prestige Film Technologies Spectra PhotoSync window film. While the paint is a big part of what sets this Aventador apart from the rest of the herd, it was vital that the interior be provided equal protection. After allowing an ample amount of time for the installations to cure up, the guys pulled her out into the afternoon sun to begin the final inspection and prep the Aventador for delivery.

With only minutes to spare & the Rosso Efesto shining bright, it was time for a close up.

The Aventador is by far and away one of the most angular Lambos in production today. From nearly every perspective, its structural design language juts out into sharp points & creases, jagged but purposeful like a serrated blade crafted to cut through the air and tear up the asphalt with maximum efficiency.

The banked roof line & convex hips of the rear end are shapely in all the right ways, leading the eyes of any onlookers right to where the magic happens. The viewing port & slatted glass over the engine bay look like something pulled out of the parts bin for a B-2 stealth bomber, and house just the kind of power one might expect to find with 50 years of Italian thoroughbred performance.

Whether you’re a big Lamborghini buff, a die-hard exotic aficionado, or just a passer-by on the street, there’s no denying the presence that a Rosso Efesto Aventador commands. Sure, it might be what some consider the “tamest” of all the bad bulls, but spend a little time with one and it’s hard not to fall in love with the forbidden fruit of a fast, red, Italian supercar that’s not from Modena.
