The matte wrap and paint craze is not new to the automotive industry. Up until now though, these trendy finishes have been subject to the abuse of the elements without any sort of protection. As a result, matte wrapped and painted cars were hard to maintain because their finishes were easily damaged by road debris, rain or even greasy fingers. Fortunately, the people at Swissvax have now come out with a wax that was specifically designed for a vehicle with a matte finish — Swissvax Opaque! Due to its 40% Brazilian Grade 1 Carnuba wax, it offers the same protection as conventional wax without ruining that matte finish we have all come to love.
Here, Swissvax Opaque has been applied to the left side of this matte painted Corvette but not the right. As you can see, there is no significant increase in gloss due to the application of the wax.
