We have had quite the variety of wrap projects in recent months, and while each vehicle we work on is special in its own way, very few have the same level of menacing appeal as the Range Rover HSE vehicle wrap project we took on. What started off as a standard color change quickly escalated into a total exterior overhaul to completely transform the HSE via full matte metallic charcoal coverage, an Overfinch body kit and eventually, a fresh set of 22s from DPE Wheels.
It’s always quite the sight to see these transitions take place, and even more so when the difference is nearly black and white.
Well, in this case, grey and white, but you get the idea.
The fully factory spec HSE arrived ready for wrapping, so we did a quick film inspection and set to work on disassembling the front clip, removing the running boards, and getting down to business.

Film production technology has really come a long ways in a relatively short amount of time. While some gloss vinyls are still a ways off from replicating a paint-like surface given their slightly “orange peel-y” appearance, matte films are really starting to break the mold with incredibly vibrant pearls, metallic flakes, and other surface textures that don’t require a gloss finish. Just look at all of the flake & highlights in the shot below!

With the front clip pulled it was time to knock out the flatter surfaces like the hood, doors, and rear hatch.

Despite the HSE being a relatively large vehicle to wrap, the coverage went quick and everything came together in almost no time. As our installers worked over the doorjambs and finished off the wrap on the Overfinch spoiler and trim pieces, Ivan set to work on installing the completed kit and reassembling the front end.

All wrapped up, we moved the HSE out into the sunlight for a quick wipe down and matte wax application. The new set of DPE Wheels were still out on delivery, so the HSE would have to come back for a full photo shoot in our cyclorama space!

Fast forward to present time: the HSE is now complete with DPE Wheels and has put the Eastside on notice – we’ve had comments streaming in from people on Facebook and other social media platforms who spotted the HSE cruising around Bellevue and were blown away. It just goes to show how much of a difference a full vehicle wrap color change can make, especially when it’s paired with some tasteful cosmetic upgrades.

Seam free is the way to be! You might be hard pressed to find cleaner jamb wraps and door sill coverage than on this complete vehicle wrap. It’s easy to see how someone might easily mistake the finish for a real deal matte paint job when dealing with such quality materials & careful installation procedures.

The Overfinch kit is subtle & relatively understated, adding a bit of curvacious & sporty contrast to the otherwise hard edged and rather boxy aesthetic of the HSE. At a quick glance it could be mistaken for just be a sportier variant of the Land Rover lineage, but with the proper wheel fitment, throaty exhaust and matted, murdered out demeanor you know it’s something special.

The new DPE Wheels look right at home in front of the pure business Brembos. Gloss black was definitely the way to go for that added contrast against the sheen of matte metallic charcoal!

Overall the Overfinch HSE is easily in the running for one of the best looking wrap project we’ve had to date. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the way the installation turned out, and hopefully it sparks some interest in other Range Rover owners to step it up in regards to upgrades & aesthetics!
