Here at NorthWest Auto Salon, we love revitalizing important parts of automotive history. Naturally, we were really excited when one of our customers brought this Sunbeam Tiger in for some much needed auto detailing. After seeing Shelby‘s success with the Cobra, the West Coast Sales Manager of Rootes American Motors Inc realized that they could use a similar formula of a lightweight British body and an American V8 to revitalize the Alpine Sunbeam. Deciding on Ford’s new 4.3liter V8, they asked Shelby themselves to produce them a prototype and was eventually put into production after being well received.
As the owner didn’t install the roof before bringing the car by, we had to wash it with the roof off while taking great care not to wet the interior.

After the vehicle was clay bared, it was time to inspect the finish to formulate a plan for correction. As this is an older vehicle with original one stage paint, we had to take special care (check out our paint correction page for more information on 1 stage paint). It was obvious though that this car was in need of some serious correction.
