It’s not every day that we get a visit from one of the fastest production cars ever built. Sure, being right next door to Cats Exotics gets us up close & personal with some pretty wild rides, but even the most rage filled bulls can’t pull on a Bug of this magnitude. Ever since it first rolled off the line back in 2005, the Bugatti Veyron has raised a lot of eyebrows & changed a lot of minds about what a super car could truly be. After 20-or-so different specs & special editions, Bugatti arrived at the Vitesse, a pop-top variant of the Grand Sport with a Super Sport engine, and set the record for “fastest roadster in the world” with a top mark of 254.04 mph. Not too shabby, considering this convertible comes with an equally high end price tag of over $2 million!
As anyone could imagine, we were quite excited when a bright flash of orange suddenly appeared in our wash bay. Last year, we were prompted when a hauler pulled up outside the shop and unloaded a standard issue Grand Sport right out front for all to see. This year, the truck was out of sight & parked down the road, so before we even knew what was inbound, there was already a Vitesse waiting for suds. The car was visiting for the 3nd annual Staycation event at Chateau Ste. Michelle & would be making a special appearance during E@RTC for “Bugatti Day,” so we had to make sure she would be looking her best in front of all the adoring enthusiasts, prying press & potential buyers!

Starting things off with a 24-step hand wash, Solomon & Myron quickly worked over every inch of Vitesse, cleaning out every inch of the bold exterior.

Just as a precautionary measure, we posted signs on all the windows & doors to keep out any prying digital eyes. With strict orders to not promote the presences of the Vitesse at the weekends coming events, we didn’t want to kill the surprise before the press even had a chance to see her in person!

Of course, the signs outside were only applicable to the people outside, so once the Vitesse was all washed up, the phones came out quicker than you can say say “Grand Sport”

As Solo stood guard, Blake guided her across the shop floor and into the cyclorama where the rest of the reconditioning processes would take place. Bugatti is one of the few manufacturers who doesn’t just stop at press cars, but also supplies a professional racecar driver to accompany the vehicle on any excursions, ensuring it arrives safely & in good hands. Talk about a dream job!

Once we had her pulled into the photobooth, Solo & Blake began assessing surface conditions of the Vitesse. There was a handful of tar spots, bug guts, and water spots littering up the paintwork, but nothing to keep her from receiving a Full Exterior Detail plus a little bit extra.

Starting front to back & working side to side, the guys systematically shined the Veyron back into 2 million dollar territory.

Getting the spoiler up, Blake went ahead and wiped away any hard water spots that had collected on its underside.

With time flying by, the guys moved onto a thorough vac & wipe of the black & grey guts. Rag & brush in hand, Blake cleaned out the wind diffuser & dusted her down while Solomon fired up the vacuum.

Once they had her all vac’d up, Solo went ahead and threw a coat of wax on the carbon fiber seatbacks.

Fortunately, we managed to get her all cleaned up with just enough time to spare for an impromptu photo shoot!

After taking as many pictures as we could in the few precious minutes we had, it was time to say goodbye. Blake guided the Vitesse out of the cyc & back across the floor to the doors.

We listened as the low rumble of the 16:4 grew louder & watched the spec of orange disappear around the bend. Just like that, she was gone.
